Helena Roerich Academy of Arts welcomes children again

The Curators of the Roerich Trust warmly welcomed all the gathered children and their parents and presented the Academy teachers to them:

Anshul Kumar – music and vocal teacher,

Anup Kumar – tabla teacher,

Mamta Thakur – dance teacher,

SapnaThakur – drawing teacher.

On the 15th of May, 2022 a new session in the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts (for children) was inaugurated in the International Roerich Memorial Trust. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Mrs. Larisa Surgina, Russian Curator IRMT and Mr. Suresh Kumar, Indian Curator IRMT. It began with the fire puja with chanting Vedic mantras which was performed by Jagdev Acharya, the main priest of Lord Krishna temple situated next to the IRMT. Then by tradition the Academy teachers dedicated a musical prayer to Goddess Sarasvati.

Then the teachers presented themselves in a brief and spoke about the oncoming classes with children. It is important to mark that the teachers of the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts have not only the professional skills and subject knowledge, but as well as the skill of getting along with children, giving their love and attention to them. And the children reciprocate to them.

Around fifty new students took admission and many more are willing to come. The new session is going to add a new chapter in the life of the children who were admitted to the Academy. The parents of those who already are studying here shared their opinions about the great influence of cultural and spiritual life of the IRMT on the Naggar children. We expect our students to grow in a wonderful atmosphere of the Roerich Estate, which is the center of art and culture and also the center of Russian-Indian friendship and cooperation.
